9 Step on How to write a Blog Post and perfectly
These are the nine steps I always follow to (try to) write a good article on the blog. From making a headline that attracts to writing short phrases or that the post is scannable
Before you read further, just a quick definition of ‘ what is a blog post?’
” A blog post is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary. It is a place to express yourself to the world. A place to share your thoughts and passions. ”
The other day, a friend asked me to take a look at his first blog post.
He believed that he wrote good articles – and writes them – but he was not getting the expected results.
My friend writes good articles but lacks some details that he has to polish.
If you have a blog, you most likely want to increase your traffic – we all want to do it – and for that, the most important thing is that our readers like what they read.
The best way to do it is not only to write very good content, but also to present it in the best possible way. It is not as complicated as it seems.
Below I list the 9 steps that I always follow to (try) to write a good blog post and I hope that they will serve my friend and also you.
Make a good headline
This will answer your question on, “how to start a blog post?”
The headlines are read more than any other text of an article in a blog.
You may have written the best post in the history of the internet, but if you have not chosen a flashy headline, the reader will not click on the link to read it.
Write a clear and direct headline.
If it is short, better.
There are studies that ensure that readers tend to absorb the first three and the last three words of a headline.
We have less than 3 seconds to get the reader’s attention. That is pressure

Use a hook to open the post
With a great title, you will get the attention of the reader.
With a good introduction, you will achieve that you continue reading the post.
If we can get the reader’s attention in the first three or four sentences, we are more likely to read the entire article.
The best way to start a text is by telling a story.
It also works very well to start with a personal anecdote. An example is the beginning of this post.
Includes photos and other visual elements
There are many people who do studies on the behavior of blog readers.
One of them says that 80% respond better to visual information than to a text.
No one doubts that we are attracted to visual content. And photos and graphics are an essential component of blogs.
It is important to write a good post, but the images have a faster and more powerful impact and are easier to share.
Use photos and visuals that draw attention.
Limit the number of characters per line
Help your readers improve your content, especially in the key elements of your text.
The best way to do this is to place an image next to one of the most important phrases to reduce the width of the lines.

Do not be afraid to play with the format. You can also increase the size of the letter of the first paragraph.

We scan the text from top to bottom to see if there is something that interests us.

From a reader’s point of view, subtitles make the text easier to read, we help you to scan our article better and jump to the sections that are most interesting.

If it is very important to start an article hard, it is also important to finish it.

We can also finish by asking the reader to do something: subscribe to our newsletter, go to another page of the blog …
Edit, edit, edit again and correct again
After you have finished writing your article, re-read it -down a couple of times, even aloud if necessary.
Leave it to someone to have a look on your blog post.
Even after publishing it, we must always review it in case any error has escaped us.
